Marines Plan to Replace LAV With Modern Armored Recon Vehicle

Marine Corps Systems Command has confirmed on 16 April that the Marine Corps plans to begin replacing its legacy Light Armored Vehicle with a modern Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle late in the next decade.

The new Marine's armed reconnaissance vehicle will provide reconnaissance capability. The primary mission equipment is an observation package. Sensors include a thermal imager, daylight camera and a laser rangefinder.
