Hypersonic Weapons Program at Risk Due to Budget Fight

WASHINGTON — As Russia and China show off their hypersonic weapons capabilities, a budget war in Congress could put one of the Pentagon's own programs at risk, which includes Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Raytheon (RTN).

Washington's current fiscal year ends at the end of the month, and Congress has yet to pass a defense appropriations bill for the new fiscal year. Instead, the House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution, which would fund the government until Nov. 21 and avoid a shutdown. The Senate will vote on the resolution next week.
